Amanoi Spa Houses: Unprecedented tranquility and luxury

Posted 4th May 2020

The brief was irresistible: create a first-of-its-kind spa experience to complement Amanoi’s unique hospitality offering in a remote, forested, lakeside location in one of Vietnam’s most beautiful provinces. The result, the Amanoi Spa Houses, offer guests a definitive and unprecedented level of luxury in Amanoi’s exquisite wellness immersion program.

BLINK approached the project, the first of its kind in Asia, from a holistic and practical point of view, combining the spirit of the place with the ethos of Aman Resorts, which dedicates itself to offering guests — royalty among them  — an experience of placid indulgence.

BLINK’s versatile, bespoke design takes advantage of natural views and the lush landscape, bringing the Amanoi brand to life, and bathing guests in an ambiance of tranquility and seamless luxury.

Leveraging BLINK’s trademark sensitivity to local culture and location, the design team – responsible for architecture, interiors, and landscape design – touched the land lightly, preserving all large trees and as much existing vegetation as possible. Prioritizing local materials over imports, they designed two freestanding additions to the property — private “spa houses” — that appear as if they were part of the property from the very beginning.

Given Amanoi’s exclusive clientele, privacy was paramount. The spa houses are discreet, accessible extensions of the resort’s accommodation villas. Each allows guests to enjoy spa treatments in a private, independent, and completely immersive environment. Accommodating private groups of two or more guests within roughly 280 square meters, the spa houses offer a sophisticated program and layout: an arrival area/dining pavilion; a service pantry; a grooming area and toilet; treatment room; heat experience room; steam room, and a double shower with ice fountain. The indoor space is complemented with external Jacuzzi, cold plunge pool, and a 15-meter infinity pool with adjacent relaxation deck.
